It...sounds very like home. One of the Monatuges would spit at one of my cousins, and then one of the cousins would throw a rock. In turn, there would be insults traded until someone's temper snapped, and it turned to blows instead. Or one of ours would spit, and begin the cycle.

The feud between the Capulets and Montagues escalated to the point where the Prince swore that if anyone shed blood in the streets, they would be put to death. And even then, it did not stop. Such things do not, not until some tragedy happens to make them stop.
