[she scoots over, giving Hanna room to sit down on her other side]

[He sits where bid and puts an arm around her, sighing.] Yeah. Weather. Um, Vriska, have you eaten since this morning?

[He puts his palms to the floor, testing the porch with a light push.

[she's relieved at the arm around her, and she turns and buries herself against him, muffling her voice]

No. But if you leave to go get me food I'm going to kick your ass.

[Hanna glances over at Zell and sighs, resting his head on top of Vriska's.] You need to eat something. But it can wait. Um...what were you guys talking about anyways?

Just you know, life an' that sorta thing! [He says way too fast.]

Yeah, how life sucks and is confusing.

[He kind of smiles that.] Teenager stuff, huh?

Is that what teenagers talk about? Man, Garden really deprived me of my teenagedom..

[but Vriska just shakes her head]

Vriska, I'm going to tell you something that my mom told me a long time ago.

"Life sucks, and then you die." Really. Truer words can never be said. If you sit and mope about it, then you won't get anything done, alright? Other people have problems exactly like yours, and sometimes it's bigger and some times its smaller. No one can tell you how big or little your problems are, but you. But, at the same time, you shouldn't try and focus on all of them at once. Alright?

That just makes them all seem bigger.

Hanna, that is DARK. Life's fulla problems, but mostve 'em aren't permanent. They just seem forever when they're happening. But yea the focusing thing.

She bristles. "You think I don't know that? I'm from Alternia. But I'm not only moping; I'm doing tons of other stuff. So fucking what if I want to wallow a little bit sometimes, when I have the chance.

"And you're wrong. Barely anybody has problems exactly like mine. They have big problems, sometimes even bigger ones, but they're all different and there's nobody exactly like me."

I didn't say you were just moping. I told you not to focus on all of them at once, Vriska. I'm not trying to belittle you, or tell you that you're doing this wrong, just take it one at a time, alright?

[He stands up, getting frustrated again, but she's upset, and he's trying his best not to get angry again. Sure they had their talk, and he's gotten what he's wanted to say out, but that's not all of it. There is still stuff there, but...god dammit.] They have problems like yours then. Geez, what I'm trying to tell you though, is that to help you, you have to try and relate, and you're not doing that. I haven't experienced what you have, but I can give you advice that I know works for similar situations.

So please, just let me do that, alright? [God he's sorry Zell, but this might just turn into another fight and he'd rather not have you get in the middle of it. Sorry, man.]

[This argument is showing him more and more that he's not sure he has a place in all this. He's not really sure what to aay anymore or if saying anything would really help. Feeling ng more like a bystander than anything else, he sorely wishes there was something he COULD say.]

How do I take one step at a time? There's too much and it's all confusing.

[He sighs a little, trying to figure out how this could go with out completely shutting Zell out of the conversation. Perhaps...using him to the best of his ability would be better than just trying to figure it out on his own.]

You sort it out, pick one thing to work on first and go on from there...you got any advice for her?

Huh? Umm.. Sometimes if I have way too much to think about, I have to run around freaking out for a while before I find a good place to start. 'Specially when everythings interconnected an' twisted up in itself.
