[It's another fifteen minutes before the glowing troll comes walking up the path. She's a bit of a mess, honestly, and has obviously been crying, but she's doing the best she can to keep it in check.]

[Vriska's sitting on the porch steps, wrapped in about three blankets]

God, you must be fucking freezing. You can have one of these, I guess.

[she starts unwrapping one from around herself]

Hmm?

[The rainbow drinker blinks and looks down at herself for a moment, and then frowns.]

...I didn't notice.

[She WAS cold though, so she moves over to sink down next to Vriska.]

[she sits in silent for a few long moments before speaking]

Do you want to go home?

[Kanaya takes a few seconds to settle the blanket on her lap, at least. Apparently being undead gives her a bit of resistance to the cold. Or she's just too miserable to care.]

I don't know.

Why the hell wouldn't you? I probably would if I were you.

There are some small benefits to being here, Vriska.

I am not racing to face a being of unimaginable power on a cold, dark meteor in search of a quest I probably cannot fulfill, for one thing.

Would you pick Rose over an ultimately more happy life? Or the other way around?

[Kanaya frowns at that. Rose or a happy life. Except...]

I can't really picture one without the other.

I know exactly what you mean.

[Kanaya seems to slump in her spot, chewing on her bottom lip with one fang.]

Maybe she'll come back.

Yeah. And you guys are dating back there, so she'd probably remember that.

Assuming she doesn't arrive from a different time completely.

[She's a tad bitter. And worried.]

What about if we could stay here if we wanted, and not have to worry about being taken away?

If we could bring other people here as well, maybe.

I'm not so crazy about the idea of going to Earth anymore, but I don't want to leave Hanna. And I don't want to leave Pitch, or Zell, or my friends either.

...You seemed quite intent on going to earth before.

I know! But when I had to really think about it, it sounds like kind of a shitty place for me.

And human lifespans are so short. I could see being okay there if I had Hanna the whole time, but I'll live for centuries after he dies.

[Kanaya gives a faint nod at that.]

I have found myself dwelling on the same problem from time to time.

But I can't not go with him. I can't never see him again.

Perhaps he would remain with you wherever you go?
