[Ryoji doesn't really seem to be moved by that threat, though. Even if it's not something he expected to hear.]

Don't worry, I wouldn't do anything to them. But I'm surprised to see you being so protective. Are they your pets?

[Vriska shrugs.]

I guess. I got them for my birthday last year; there are eight of them.

[Now that's one interesting gift.]

Really? That's so cool. Did you give each one a name?

I tried, but I can't tell them apart, so I gave up. They don't need names, anyway.

I see. Maybe you should dress them up with different accessories and give it a try then?

[He chuckles.]

Do you feed them anything with?

Nah. They find food for themselves.

It's just like with our kitty, then.

Speaking of food...

[Ryoji shifts the bag from his shoulder and lowers it down to the ground, kneeling beside it before he starts working on getting it open.]

[She leans over to watch, waiting for him to finish.]

[Ryoji just lowers the sides of the bag so that they can see what's inside without taking the items out and making them dirty. And soon enough, there's a variety of things laid out before them, two of each kind: carrots, potatoes, onions, tomatoes and apples. And then there are a lot more strawberries and three types of PokeBerries Ryoji managed to find and grow. Along that is also a smaller, separate bag full of wheat.]

Do any of these seem familiar to you?

Duh. Strawberries, tomatoes, apples... I'm not an idiot.

I just don't know what those are.

[She points to the PokeBerries.]

[Just making sure!]

Ah... I'm not exactly sure what those are, either. It's not something I ever saw back in my home world, unless they're some kind of weird variation of a peach and a pear or something...

But I tried all of them and nothing bad happened to me, so I guess they should be fine to eat? Have a try, they taste sweet.

[Vriska takes a big. A big one; she's not cautious.]

... Huh. Not bad, I guess.

[Ryoji simply watches her eat, happy that she seems so eager.]

You like them? I could bring you some more once they grow.

Yeah, they're okay. Maybe I could plant some.

I could help you with that, too, if you'd like.

I don't think so. I plant stuff at Ta Prohm.

... I see.

I could show you how to do it back at my garden, then?

Sure. And then I could transfer stuff or something.

Mm. You could start planting things yourself once you get the hang of it, too. It's not that hard.

I could also show you where I found these berries in the first place. Who knows, maybe you'd be able to find some new types. Or better yet, we could look some more together.

Maybe. I don't want to spend too much of my time doing this gardening stuff.

Don't worry, once you plant everything, all you really have to do is wait for the results. And water the patches from time to time.

So it just requires a lot of effort at the beginning.

What if an event happens and they all die?

Ah... that would be no fun. And neither of us can deny the possibility...

But what if it won't? If you'd think about it that way, would you rather not give it a try at all?
